LEED Certification Management
iOffice works with the client during every step of certification.
Once a plan and budget are in place, the next step is managing the certification to ensure it happens on time and within the allocated budget.
We begin by developing a certification plan, including a summary of the credits we want to obtain and a specific credit task list, prioritizing the credits the client wishes to pursue. We also determine cost estimates for the capital expenditures needed to reach different levels of certification.
During this process, iOffice is available whenever the client needs us. We attend project team meetings to identify issues, answer questions and regularly update the client on the certification process.
Among the specific certification steps we handle are:
- Determine what tasks need to be completed prior to the beginning of the performance period, and provide templates (based on our past experiences) as required by the USGBC
- Coordinate with the vendors to prepare necessary policies and procedures to comply with LEED
- Collect documentation and organize information into correct formats for submission to USGBC
- Track our progress toward completion, which includes ensuring we have required documentation and information and making sure each task is assigned to a responsible party
- Craft questions to USGBC for clarification or interpretation of credit language as it pertains to the project
- Review comments from USGBC after the original submission for certification
- Track the LEED certification progress and re-submitting documentation with additional information if needed
Implementation
Once a strategic plan, budget and certification schedule is in place, it’s time to implement – and become LEED certified. iOffice helps our clients through every step of implementation, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and cost-savings.
iOffice works side by side with the client and the client’s building staff to create a plan that works. We develop scopes of work for upgrades and renovations, as identified in the investigation and analysis phase. We also work with the building staff to document completed work and outline the expected benefits for planned improvements. iOffice helps building staff update operation plans, based on renovations, and we work with staff to recommend training program options for employees to build skills in sustainability topics.
