    The most useful blogs on facilities management and the workplace environment... For the last segment in our series we are covering blog posts, which can be a bit overwhelming due to the sheer amount of them available. As of April 2013, there were over 63 million blogs through WordPress alone! We have narrowed it down to eight, all that we believe facility manager and office managers will benefit from. Take a look at each, and read their most recent articles to gain a better perspective of what topics to expect from them in the future.

Their blog hosts various articles covering everything from IWMS implementation expectations and corporate communication practices. This is a blog many people will find useful.

    Ken Burkhalter directs this blog that posts articles that range in discussion from alternative workspace options, to commercial real estate, sustainability, CMMS and FM technologies. They also post a weekly ‘Friday Funny’, an article related to FM with a humorous twist. The blog is located on the Today’s Facility Manager website, the third tab on the top of the front page.

    You can begin following the selections we have suggested, but let this only be a starting point! There are new blogs popping up everyday by writers and thought leaders with fresh perspectives on the complicated world of facilities management. If your company develops content that you feel would benefit others, start a blog yourself! Blogging is a wonderful tool that enables you to share and connect with people who have similar careers and interests. Take note on writing styles and formats from sites you enjoy, and bring them to your own work. Happy blogging!
