HOUSTON, TX (July 5, 2013) – Mercer University is extending its relationship with the IWMS (Integrated Workplace Management Solution) software provider, iOffice, Inc. The university first introduced the company’s copy solution through iOffice’s channel partner, Ricoh, back in 2009. Mercer was pleased with the results from the first module, and decided to install Asset, Mail, and most recently Service Request. iOffice offers 10 modules, each configurable to the company it services.

Mercer was one of the first universities to install iOffice’s mail module kiosks, which allow students to access their personal mail through individual accounts from stations near the student mail center. Before this was installed, Mercer did not have any electronic way of tracking and delivering student and faculty packages and mail, which resulted in long wait times and inaccurate deliveries for the recipients. However with the use of the mail kiosks and the Mail module, students and faculty of Mercer now experience little wait time, and receive immediate access and real-time notification of their mail status.

Through the utilization of the Mail module, Mercer was also introduced to the Service Request module. This portion of the software is a work order management system that allows for online submission of service requests and automated dispatch to the operational teams for fulfillment. With this module, the university is now able to track and measure service performance, productivity and costs, while responding to student needs in a timely manner. Mercer students have reported favoring the ability to submit service request tickets online, making the process for the end user convenient, and ensuring that service needs are properly maintained for everyone using the facilities.
