iOFFICE has been the most robust workplace management software on the market since its inception. But our technology is constantly evolving to support our clients’ growth, inform their decision-making and offer high-touch experiences in their workplaces.

After many conversations with our customers and a lot of work behind the scenes, we’re excited to share a few big updates we’ll be introducing to iOFFICE soon.

Here’s a look at what you can expect to see by the end of the year.

New Workplace Management Features For 2019

  • Making It Easier To Connect Workplace Apps
  • Integrations With Smart Building Systems
  • Next Generation Wayfinding
  • Visitor Management System Software Enhancements
  • Space and Move Software Updates
  • Greater Ability to Forecast Space Needs

1. Making It Easier to Connect Workplace Apps

Our mission is to help you create connected experiences for your workplace that drive positive business outcomes. iOFFICE’s open API already makes it possible for you to connect our platform to a variety of other applications, but in the past, that has usually involved a conversation with the IT department.

We’re working on a solution that will make this even easier, cutting out the need for middleware to act as a bridge between our workplace management software and your applications.

2. Integrations With Smart Building Systems

It doesn’t matter where you work—the most common requests you probably get are related to the temperature in your office.

While there’s no single thermostat setting everyone will agree on, we hope to bring you closer to workplace harmony with real-time feedback.

With the iOFFICE Hummingbird workplace app, employees can instantly tell you their temperature preferences so you can maintain a setting based on real data, rather than assumptions. We’re also partnering with Tridium Niagara, a global leader in building automation. This partnership has the potential to help facility managers reduce energy costs, generate greater ROI and make employees more comfortable.

3. Next Generation Wayfinding

Our wayfinding software is becoming one of our fastest-growing modules, helping employees and visitors easily navigate your workplace. To make it even easier to use, we’ve recently simplified the layout to mirror the user experience of iOFFICE Hummingbird.

The new layout include quick navigation to points of interest, like restrooms and emergency shelters. It supports both portrait and landscape orientation, providing a consistent experience on any device. It’s just like using Google Maps for your workplace!

4. Visitor Management Software Enhancements

Think about everything you do to prepare someone to come to your workplace for the first time. Now imagine being able to automate that.

We’re introducing updates to our visitor management software that allow you to pre-register visitors when you invite them to a meeting. This information will feed directly into our visitor management system and will even flag someone who is on your security watch list (like a disgruntled former employee.)

This will integrate with the Microsoft Outlook plugin so you can send visitors a welcome email letting them know where to check in, where to eat and how to access WiFi.

Visitors can also receive a QR code via their Apple wallet, which they can simply scan to check in upon arrival.

5. Space and Move Software Updates

Managing office moves is tough. Our space management and move management software allows you to do it in a fraction of the time, but we’re always striving to make it even faster.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce improved functionality and performance, including:

  • Faster load times for users
  • Integration with our service request software so you can easily create tasks related to move requests
  • A new “move mode” for the space desktop
  • The ability to “shelf” employees while you decide where to move them

6. Greater Ability to Forecast Space Needs

Last year, we introduced a number of updates to our Stacking Diagram in the Move module. Now we’re introducing a new forecasting view through in that same Stacking Diagram that allows you to create floor plans as your company experiences growth or reductions. You’ll be able to enter projected changes by department or building, see how much space you’ll need and start planning your moves accordingly.

These updates are just a few of the changes we’re making to help you better manage your workplace today and in the future.

We’re going to be covering these in more detail as they happen, so stay tuned! If you haven’t already, take a moment to subscribe to our blog so you can be the first to know about what’s new.
