Worldwide spending on IWMS software will surpass $1 billion in 2013

    Elizabeth Dukes

IWMS software spending increases each year.Corporate officials are turning to technology in droves in order to help them maintain facilities, and there's no hotter topic in facilities management software today than Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) solutions. In fact, sales of IWMS software worldwide are expected to reach $1.01 billion in 2013, a 16.3 percent increase from $869 million a year ago. By 2018, revenues are expected to hit $1.7 billion.

"With the benefit of six years of IWMS market data across 13 core indicators, the IWMS Trend Tracker affirms that as CRE and IT leaders struggle to manage complex and dynamic real estate and asset portfolios, disparate technology environments are increasingly being exchanged toward centralized IWMS technology platforms," said Daniel O'Toole, managing partner at IWMSconnect.

The 16.3 percent growth rate for IWMS revenue far outpaces other segments of the business technology market. Many are growing, but none as fast as IWMS - enterprise resource planning (6.7 percent), customer relations management (9.1 percent) and business intelligence (7 percent) all lag far behind.

Facilities managers in today's busy environment need to be prepared for everything. With IWMS software tools at their disposal, managers can access accurate information about their office buildings in real time. More companies are realizing these benefits now than ever.
