Frequently asked questions

  • How does SVLive detect presence and update space status?

SVLive uses Wi‑Fi presence, supported occupancy sensors, and (where configured) badge data to determine whether spaces are available, reserved, or occupied. Status updates display instantly on interactive views.

  • Which sensor vendors and data pathways are supported?

SVLive supports occupancy ingestion via the Occupancy Sensor API (webhook, JSON). Current connectors include CoWorkr, VergeSense, and PointGrab. Data mappings must match building, floor, and space names in Serraview for accuracy.

  • What are the network and system requirements?

SVLive (and Insights) require HTTPS access on port 443. Supported browsers: latest/previous versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari. SVLive Desktop Presence Service supports Windows 7+ and macOS 10.13+; on‑premise components require Windows Server 2008R2+ and .NET 4.6.

  • How long until sensor data appears in reports?

Sensor events are ingested in near real time. Data typically loads within about an hour (environment‑dependent ETL). Sensors marked Offline if no events are received for two hours.

  • Does SVLive work without sensors (Wi‑Fi‑only)?

Yes. SVLive can operate in Wi‑Fi‑only setups to show live desk availability and presence. This delivers clarity for employees and teams while advanced, desk‑level tracking may require sensors.
